Nafpaktos, Greece

Athanasia Panagiotopoulou, former Greek National Team player and collegiate athlete at the University of Illinois and Cal State Fullerton, combines her passion for basketball with her expertise in sustainable tourism development. As the founder of The Greek Aesthete, she has dedicated her career to promoting cultural and eco-conscious travel while creating meaningful community-driven initiatives. Her work focuses on developing tourism experiences that preserve local heritage, support small businesses, and highlight Greece’s lesser-known destinations.

The Hoop Gallery is an extension of this mission—revitalizing an outdoor basketball court in Nafpaktos to serve as both a hub for local athletes and a landmark of artistic expression. This transformation will not only enhance sports accessibility but also position Nafpaktos as a global destination where basketball, culture, and sustainable tourism intersect.
